Kansas, Memphis, FSU among Vols' interleague foes

KNOXVILLE — Tennessee’s 2019-20 nonconference men’s basketball schedule includes dates with Kansas, Memphis, Wisconsin, Cincinnati and Florida State among others.

The Vols released the nonconference portion of their schedule Monday, though some of the dates had been previously announced.

Tennessee’s home schedule includes games with UNC Asheville on Nov. 5, Murray State on Nov. 12, Alabama State on Nov. 20, Chattanooga on Nov. 25, Florida A&M on Dec. 4, Memphis on Dec. 14, Jacksonville State on Dec. 21 and Wisconsin on Dec. 28.

The Vols will visit Cincinnati on Dec. 18 and Kansas on Jan. 25. The Kansas game is part of the Big 12/SEC Challenge.

Tennessee faces Washington on Nov. 16 in Toronto as part of the James Naismith Classic. The Vols also will enter the Emerald Coast Classic in Niceville, Florida, where they will face Florida State on Nov. 29 in their opening-round matchup.

Over the past two seasons, Rick Barnes’ Vols have made back-to-back NCAA tournament appearances and totaled 57 victories. 

Tennessee will tip off the new season with an exhibition game against Eastern New Mexico on Wednesday, Oct. 30. Rising senior guards Jordan Bowden and Lamonte Turner will be back to lead the Vols.
