The Tennessee Department of Revenue’s special investigations section conducted the investigation that led to the indictment and arrest of Edwin Gerald Kilgore. Revenue agents arrested Kilgore Wednesday at his residence, and bond was set at $5,000.
Brian Leo Snow filed three false claims with the IRS claiming more than $144 million in tax refunds to which he was not entitled. Prosecutors also say Snow made frivolous arguments to the IRS about why he didn’t have to pay tax and claimed that IRS collection letters were “counterfeit securities.”
Prosecutors say the couple diverted more than $400,000 of income to a bank in Switzerland during a three year period while living in Germany in order to avoid paying federal income taxes.
